Jean Ring Cude was a North Carolina poet and writer who lived in Winston-Salem. This collection contains a draft manuscript of a book entitled Meritha Jane as well as some other writings and a list of books in Cude's personal library.

Biographical and Historical Note

Jean Ring Cude was a poet and writer born March 17, 1906, in North Carolina. Cude was a member of Poetry Lover's Group of Woman's Club in Winston Salem and was an active participant in the North Carolina Poetry Society during the 1960s. Cude also authored an unpublished work, Meritha Jane. She passed away June 2, 1994, in Winston-Salem, N.C.
