Biographical and Historical Note

Odessa Arnette Memory was married to Duncan Thomas Memory, who was brother to Jasper Livingston Memory, a Wake Forest graduate (1921) and professor. Her father, John Madison Arnette, graduated from Wake Forest College (1902).

Odessa A. Memory collected these materials related to the Riverton area of North Carolina. Riverton is a rural area of what is now Scotland County, just outside the Cape Fear River Basin.
