Bethlehem Baptist Church was constituted in 1832 as Maple Bluff. Materials consist of church minutes from Dec. 1835 to Aug. 1912, and from 1928 to 1950 [broken series]; a list of deceased members, 1835-71; membership and attendance rolls, 1852-1951 and undated; miscellaneous undated papers; and Sunday School records, 1977-91 [broken series].

Biographical and Historical Note

Bethlehem Baptist Church was constituted in 1832 as Maple Bluff. It became Bethlehem in 1835. This church has been a member of Goshen, (1832-43); Union, (1844-64); Eastern, (1865-1900), and Wilmington, (1901- present) Baptist associations.

Collection Overview

These documents include covenant and church meeting minutes (1835-1912), a photocopy of a deceased members list with notes of dates of decease (circa 1837-1871), church membership lists and account materials with occasional notes of dates of decease and dismission (1852-1951), and other notes and materials pertaining to church matters.
