The Mount Pisgah Baptist Church was organized on August 26, 1814 by a presbytery consisting of James Weathers and Elder Robert Thomas Daniel at Yates Meeting House. There were 25 charter members- 4 males and 21 females. Daniel was chosen as their first pastor. In 1818, the church changed its name to Mount Pisgah from Yates Meeting House (1814-1818). This volume contains organization of the church (1814), articles of faith (1814), church meeting minutes (1815-1869), membership rolls of males, female, and African Americans with notes of dates of dismission, decease, marriage, etc. (1815-1869), and church statistics (1814-1868).
