- Nailja Faizi received her B.A. (2014) in Religious Studies from Wake Forest University, with minors in Middle Eastern Studies and International Studies. She served as the Director of Muslim Life within the Chaplains Office from 2017-2018. This oral history interview includes Faizi's experiences as a hijab wearing muslim student and staff member at Wake Forest University, including the challenges she overcame and the positive impact it had on her as a student and a professional. She discusses the role her religious beliefs played in her time as a student, the affirming experiences that shaped her perspective as a student, and her thoughts on how the university can better support Muslim students and the Muslim Student Association.
