description
Raza Khan is a Senior majoring in Finance in the School of Business. Initially, Khan's parents were apprehensive of sending their son to school in North Carolina, as the family has lived in New Jersey for his entire life and is a semi-active part of the muslim community. In this oral history, Khan describes the role of Islam in his life and how it has impacted his experiences in the Muslim Student Association as a Finance major. When asked about affirming experiences at Wake, Khan pointed out that he's fairly independent and tends to find his affirmations in himself by using his faith as his security and guide in times of unrest. While MSA is one of the social organizations that Khan belongs to, he was also a part of the Boxing club and helped it to grow to one of the largest athletic clubs on campus. As with other voices in this collection, Khan points out that of the many efforts the University is making, the addition of Halal meats and foods on a regular basis would greatly improve the quality of living circumstances for Muslim students on campus.
