Biographical and Historical Note

Pi Kappa Alpha, also known as PIKE or PiKA, is a national fraternity founded at the University of Virginia in 1868. Originally the "Aint Putting Out" Club in 1900 and Alpha Pi Omega (unconnected to the national organization) in 1919, the Gamma Phi charter at WFU was recognized after a petition in 1939, renaming the campus organization to Pi Kappa Alpha. Their vision statement is "to set the standard of integrity, intellect, achievement for our members, host institutions, and the communities in which we live."
