description
Chafin's voice is heard at the start of the recording, and then it fades out. His voice becomes audible again around the 16 second mark. Chafin preaches on 2 aspects of the Great Commission that he feels the church neglects: 1) quality of discipleship and 2) the number of people whom we win to Christ. The church often measures discipleship in terms of conversion and baptism only, which Chafin declares is a partial and inadequate view of Biblical faith. Growth of church membership is not evangelism.
This project was supported by a Recordings at Risk grant from the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR). The grant program is made possible by funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
