description
First 5 minutes is music. Sermon regarding being created in the "likeness" of God and reads from Romans 6. The preacher names eight babies born in 1809, called the year of battle, who would change history as an example of God controlling history. God provides redemption in a historical world at conflict with itself. More music insterspersed, but lyrics are sometimes difficult to distinguish. Another sermon by unidentified Wake Forest alumni from the Beautitudes in Matthew references famous preachers and the needs of the unconverted world. A final sermon from II Timothy 2 addresses the need for truthful preaching in the current culture.
This project was supported by a Recordings at Risk grant from the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR). The grant program is made possible by funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
