description
Message in Laymen's Conference regarding the speaker's experience as a missionary in Africa for the past 14 years, and how contemporary changes affect missionary evangelism. Reports that there are 2500 missionaries in 77 countries from the Southern Baptist Convention. Referenced Biblical texts include Esther 4:14. Includes stories about Zambian people, particularly their use of new technology like transistor radios and televisions to reach people faster. Colonialism introduced the English language as the ofiicial language of Zambia. Printed material increases coverage.
This project was supported by a Recordings at Risk grant from the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR). The grant program is made possible by funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
