Various items of convention business are carried out. The newly appointed committee chairs and members are announced with their credentials. A new committee has been created to serve college needs, including pastors, college officials and laymen and women. Multiple motions of elections to committees are approved. Recreational activities at colleges being consistent with Baptist beliefs is discussed as to whether the convention has authority in the matter, according to Pastor M.O. Owens; the motion is tabled. Motion concerning the Higher Education Act to rescind a previous action is carried out in deference to a college contract, to reach accredidation for Mars Hill College. Its constitutionality is debated.
