WFU's Humanities Club was a interdepartment group established in 1936 meant to "represent the interests of those in its membership" through informal dinners, speaker events, and academic discussions. In 1982, Humanities Club split into two groups that had separate administrations but worked in close concert for event planning. Collection materials include meeting minutes, attendence records, and anniversary reports, as well as memorandums, club invitations, membership rosters, and event planning and personal correspondence for Group B.

Biographical and Historical Note

WFU's Humanities Club was a interdepartment group established in 1936. It was never formally chartered, making the Club's functioning illegal. Its purpose was to "represent the interests of those in its membership" including informal dinners, speaker events, and academic discussions, according to its Anniversary reports. In 1982, Humanities Club split into two groups, Group A and Group B, that had separate administrations and recordkeeping, but they worked cordially and in close concert for event planning.
