The back's handwritten cursive reads, as possible, "Dear sister, Just a few lies [sic] to let you heare [sic] from me the [illegible] are well, from RSH" and addressed to "Mrs. Martha[m?] Hughes", "Lawsonville", "R[JR? TD?], NC, Box 28." A postmark indicates the postcard was processed September 30, 1889, at 8AM, in Cary. A stamp and blank area are in the right top corner.
