The backside of the image has an ink stamp from National Art & Crayon Co. with blank lines to be filled-in by hand. There are different manuscript types on the backside. One reads "Mr. R.E. Hugh [sic], Westfield, N.C."; another fills in the stamped lines "Dep't: 4383-3" and "Flat: Flat"; another names those shown in the image, "Walter Hughes & wife Tenner Joyce Hughes"; the final is "1818" written in graphite, likely denoting the year the image was taken.
