- description
- Black and white photograph shows Lorate Moore Hughes standing next to her husband, Harrison "Hars" Hughes, sitting at right. She has one hand behind her back and one on Hars' shoulder, looking at the camera with a neutral expression. She is wearing what appears to be a long, lace dress with three-quarters sleeves and and high neck with black laced shoes. Hars is wearing a suit with what appears to be a slightly oversized suit coat, fully buttoned with large metal buttons, and a white collared shirt with a patterned tie fitted slightly crooked around his neck. He is balanced on what appears to be the arm of some piece of furniture, with one foot suspended off the ground and his hands folded in his lap. To Lorate's left is what appears to be a spiral staircase banister. The image is mounted that is stamped with what appears to be red wax. The back of the image reads "Hars Hughes and Lorate Hughes" in handwritten cursive.
