Biographical and Historical Note
Wake Forest University's Writing Program is a part of the Department of English and is most notable for its required first-year writing seminar. The program works across disciplines and includes an interdisciplinary writing minor that can be achieved in any course of study. The Writing Program also staffs the the Writing Center with undergraduate and graduate tutors. The aim of the center is to help students become confident critical readers and writers. As of 2022, the center is directed by Dr. Ryan Shirey.
