Shown here is Dr. J. Stanton King, research Assistant Professor in the Department of Urology at Bowman Gray School of Medicine in 1962. Dr. Stanton is using a new amino acid analyzer that was provided at the cost of $8,000 by the John A. Hartford Foundation, Inc. of New York. The foundation gave the money for the equipment in support of a project to study the etiology and prevention of kidney stone formation and also the substances found in the urine of persons with many other diseases.
