Description

Dr. Charles E. McCreight said: “Anatomy is my life!” He came to Bowman Gray School of Medicine in 1952 as a teaching assistant while still working toward his PhD in Anatomy here at the Medical School. Dr. McCreight was well liked and respected by both students and faculty. He is remembered by his students for lowering his chin to his chest, peering over his horn-rimmed glasses while asking them questions in a small, soft voice. Students claimed, “He doesn’t answer your question, he teaches you to think!! He knows everything about everything”! After 31 years of teaching, Dr. McCreight retired in 1984 and is now professor emeritus of anatomy. This photo shows Dr. Charles McCreight working one on one with a student in the anatomy lab at Bowman Gray School of Medicine in 1984.
