Message by convention president John Lawrence, preaching from John 14, addresses the explosive issues facing the convention regarding Baptist distintives such as the acceptance for church membership those not baptized by immersion and Separation of Church and State. The theme "Jesus the One Way" is interpreted as answering to a higher law of Christian law of love and what would be Christ pleasing. He insists on his own belief in traditional heritage but also a growing conviction to walk in unity and in love and concludes with a call to prayer for wisdom and unity in this crisis.
