Description
Mr. Gary Altice takes surgical instruments for cleaning after being used for surgery in 1997 at North Carolina Baptist Hospital. A widely used method for heat sterilization is the autoclave where steam is heated to 250 degrees Fahrenheit in order to kill all germs. Most instruments and tools are taken apart and packed in layers of cloth before being wrapped all the way around with a special indicator tape that changes colors when the appropriate conditions have been met, meaning the instruments are cleaned.
