Abstract

Published in: Medical Scene. October 1964. p.5.

Description

Staff therapist Bill Brown (left) gives a patient positive pressure breathing treatment in the new inhalation therapy clinic at the Medical Center which opened in 1964. At that time, the medical center was the third patient-care institution in the nation with both inpatient and outpatient programs in inhalation therapy. Inhalation therapy treatment is not curative, but helps to improve pulmonary function and to keep lung problems such as emphysema, asthma, and chronic bronchitis from becoming more serious.
