Abstract

Description

Cecil Ray recounts a previous planning session by the Southern Baptist Convention in Norfolk, VA on missions that created a two year (1977-1979) emphasis called Bold Mission and speaks of fulfilling it. An increase in leadershipis needed besides hired ministry staff in member volunteerism, a new lifestyle of financial sacrifice, and renewed commitment. Five task forces on giving, evangelism, Sunday School, volunteers in mission, and education is created. The 1977 state convention ends with an appeal to take the challenge home to churches. A resolution of gratitude to retiring state worker Jimmy Morris.
