dc.descriptionBlack and white photograph shows students and faculty members in suits and ties looking at an exhibit of Japanese wood block color prints, all matted. An image of a woman, a queen possibly, of Qing Dynasty, and two flowers-and-birds Chinese paintings hang on the back wall. An attached note card reads "Beginning in the fall of 1929 beginning courses in art history were taught in the English Department by A. Lewis Aycock. The English Department assisted in sponsoring many loan exhibits of art, including the Japanese wood-block color prints shown in this exhibit in the English work room on the third floor of the Alumni Building in ___. The students and faculty members in the room are identified on the other side of this card." An attached page reads "Left to right: 1. John Avera; 2. Henlee Barnette; 3. [blank]; 4. Prof. E. E.
