Description
The Department of Family Medicine was created in late 1974 and opened as a model family practice unit at North Carolina Baptist Hospital. The goal for the department was to provide training to physicians through a three-year residency program as part of the medical school?s effort to produce more primary care physicians. The new department was lead by Dr. Julian F. Keith.
