Description

In 1968, Boyce and several partners at the medical school became the first in the United States to prove that ultrasound could be used as a diagnostic tool for cancers of the genital and urinary tracts. Boyce also perfected a more non-invasive way to remove kidney stones from patients by cooling the kidney in ice and blocking off its blood supply. Dr. Boyce received many prestigious medical awards before retiring in 1989.
