dc.descriptionMark Welker is a retired faculty member with nearly forty years of University involvement. He received his Bachelor of Science in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1981 and his doctorate in organic chemistry from Florida State University in 1985. He began his career at Wake Forest University in the chemistry department as an assistant professor before eventually serving as department chair. In addition to his duties as a professor, Welker also served the Office of the Provost through various appointments, including interim provost. In his interview, Welker discusses his personal and academic background and outlines key moments in his professional career. An additional video is included that covers an excerpt where Welker discusses the topic of Caring Leadership.en_US
