Speaks of the worldly changes that are occurring. Jesus sees people as spiritual opportunities, like sheep without a shepherd. The church must go forward with new opportunities, compared to the Hebrews standing at the crossing of the Red Sea. He reviews the structure of the convention. He also mentions government financial aid available to higher education in the context of religious freedom and the decisions the convention would soon be facing. The chief need of American churches is a great spiritual awakening. He finally addresses racial segregation in churches. He concludes quoting the words of the song "Our God is Marching On."
