Description
Message regarding the many missions Baptists support locally, nationally led by the Home Mission Board. The Thirty Thousand movement and refugee relief for Cuban immigrants following the Castro conquest are mentioned. Cuban missionaries have chosen to stay and have reported increases in Baptist church and leadership memberships, with the help of the convention. He describes the power of prayer and spiritual capabilities as a way to counteract war, military, and conflict in the world. Nearly one tenth of Southern Baptist churches are in states outside the south. Addresses changing difference in rural and urban ministry and the need to meet immigrants and other segments that are unchurched and increasingly more so every year. Uses dated racial language.
