Description

Reynolds Health center which is located on Highland Avenue in Winston-Salem, was a center that was owned and operated by the County of Forsyth. Before opening and treating their first patient on July 1, 1975, Bowman Gray School of Medicine signed a contract with the County to provide the physicians on their faculty to the center as a community service to the public. This allowed the center to help provide the medical school with an excellent setting for teaching medicine to the medical students and house officers. This was a great benefit to the citizens of Forsyth and surrounding counties, as most of the patients were only charged a fee according to their family's income. Today in 2007, North Carolina Baptist Hospital runs the center as a primary health clinic for country residents only and those who lack health insurance. It is open five days a week and offers full, comprehensive care.
