Description

Dr. Cooper became a full-time staff member at Bowman Gray School of Medicine in the Hematology/Oncology Department in 1967. He was professor of hematology/oncology and acting director of the Cancer Center of Wake Forest University in 1975. Dr. Robert Cooper retired from this position in 2001 and became director of Emeritus Affairs. The Hematology/Oncology Department was a division within the Internal Medicine Department that was developed in 1958 and directed by Dr. Charles Spurr. Among Dr. Spurr's early trainees was Dr. Cooper.
