Abstract
Harold Tribble had presented a proposal to the North Carolina Baptist State Convention, which would have allowed non-Baptist, non-North Carolina residents to serve on the Wake Forest University Board of Trustees. The proposal was defeated, but students staged a spontaneous demonstration to welcome Tribble back to campus.
