Shown here is an unidentified female at North Carolina Baptist Hospital posing in a candid shot. She is advertising the new message mate beeper for a news release. The message mate was a small receiver that delivered a radio message individually to those carrying the devise. It had no display and could not store a message, however it was portable and notified the wearer that a message had been sent. This new device to the hospital was essential for communication between the switchboard operators and the physicians, nurses, engineers and security men. The date of the photo is unknown.
