Convention president opens a committee meeting with announcements and then recognizes the convention's unsung heroes, specifically parliamentarian, secretaries and the pages. Another man presents an amendment regarding baptism by immersion as grounds for church membership, based upon Biblical beliefs, traditions and Baptist Faith and Message. The resolution was ruled to be too similar to another motion and ruled out of order. Another resolution regarding North Carolina public schools asked for the Convention to stand with public educators. Motion on alcoholic abuse and state laws is proposed to monitor local liquor laws and requesting the next governor to create a study on issue. Pastor addressing Sunday School material for young people and racism, proposes a resolution to disassociate with racism. Another resolution addresses anti-semitism as an evil to be rejected. Amnesty and the war are concerns addressed in a message to President Nixon. All resolutions are referred to the Resolutions Commission.
