dc.descriptionDr. LeRoy Crandell (center), Professor of Anesthesia at North Carolina Baptist Hospital in 1963, directs fellow inhalation therapists on the correct procedures of restoring normal breathing in patients with lung problems. The "new" inhalation therapy section, which was the second such program in the state, was equipped for four different types of applications- nostril catheter, mask, mouthpiece, or tracheal attachment- depending on the particular needs of the patient.en_US
