dc.descriptionDr. Russell Perry is one of two doctors at Bowman Gray School of Medicine who helped start a two-year residency program in the late 1960s to train doctors in the area of Emergency Medical Services. Dr. Eben Alexander, a well-known neurosurgeon, also helped with the program. The Section on Emergency Medical Services at the medical school was one of the first five EMS departments in the country.en_US
