<dim:field mdschema="dc" element="description" qualifier="abstract" lang="en_US">The challenge of the cancer therapy remains in the lacking of efficient targeting of the malignant cells without causing significant systemic toxicity. Most of the clinically used cancer therapeutic agents circulates throughout the body causing sever damage including vital organ such as brain, liver, kidney limiting their usage. Moreover, due to drug resistance significant number of malignant cells survives even after the treatment with these conventional chemotherapies leaving the damage of systemic toxicity which may lead to metastasis. Recent studies demonstrated nano-sized complexes has the potential to deliver chemotherapeutics via indirect tumor targeting towards leaky tumor vasculature via Enhanced permiability and retention effect. Especially nanoparticles in combination with targetedly used therapeutic modalities such as Photo Dynamic Therapy (PDT) enhanced the efficacy of canceer therapy.</dim:field>
