Religion, on the other hand, has always been very prevalent throughout the world and has been the foundation of the world. We as a society have shaped sports to be a form of religious devotion. The manifestations of traditional religion that are seen in the chapel are comparable to those seen in the stadium. The extreme fandom that we see as well as the rituals and formal procedures that are performed before, during and after sporting events resemble those performed for religious purposes.
