- Dr. Phillip Cunningham is an Assistant Professo of Media Studies in the Department of Communication at Wake Forest University. Cunningham's research focuses on African American representation in popular culture. This interview focuses on Dr. Cunningham's arrival to Wake Forest immediately following the COVID-19 pandemic and the creation of the African American Studies program. He references several movements at the time including the Black Lives Matter Movement.
