Description

Mr. Albert Shircliffe came to Bowman Gray School of Medicine in 1964 after spending 21 years in the Navy as a chief master diver. He started working in the operating room doing blood flow studies during and after heart surgeries. He was responsible for designing the laboratory for the Hanes Building and then setting it up. He also improved the design of many instruments located in the laboratory. He retired in 1988 and died in 2003.
