Description

In 1958, North Carolina Baptist Hospital practiced for a disaster. People playing "patients" in this photograph are being transported from the casualty collection center in the basement hallway to a treatment center, probably in the cafeteria. The patients were identified and examined by doctors before being transported. North Carolina Baptist Hospital's disaster plan was put to the test in February 1957 when Flat Rock Elementary School fire victims came to the hospital for emergency treatment.
