description
A woman gives a speech regarding what high schoolers look for in a minister, namely understanding, friendship, and guidance. There is a pause, then another woman speaks about the thoughts, needs, and concerns of college students of her time. A man then discusses what the church should do for young people, claiming that the Church should not make any special accommodations. Speakers include Al Baker, student at Bowman Gray School of Medicine; Anna Wood, student at Mills Home; Fay Coker, student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; and Mills Home Pastor Roger E. Williams who moderated the discussion. The recording begins with 10 to 15 seconds of sound cutting in and out.
This project was supported by a Recordings at Risk grant from the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR). The grant program is made possible by funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
