THE EFFECT OF BODY MASS INDEX ON PHYSICAL FUNCTION IN PATIENTS WITH COPD

Abstract

BACKGROUND: Obesity is associated with self-reported and performance-based physical dysfunction. Previous studies examining the role of body composition on physical function in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) have examined the role of low body mass index (BMI). Studies examining the role of obesity on physical function in patients with COPD have produced conflicting results.
