He has a moustache and is wearing a suit with only the top button of the coat buttoned. The image is in a white paper frame with red decorative borders, edges scraped a bit. The back of the frame reads "J. H. Blakemore. Photographer, Mt. Airy, N.C. Picture finished in India Ink, Pastel, Oil, and Water Colors."
